  We can't do this without your help!

  Join us on our journey …

Commit to being part of our prayer team. We will face intense spiritual warfare and we need a team of prayer warriors partnering with us from home. If God is calling you to join us in prayer, let us know here!

Partner with us financially. To serve God's kingdom this year, we have to raise $45,000. God has already provided almost $33,000 through faithful givers – we are overwhelmed with gratitude!

  What is ?

The World Race is a journey around the world to love people (especially the poor) through service and physical presence. We will backpack through 11 countries in 11 months, connecting with local pastors, serving their ministries, and seeking to learn from them.

We will live in close community with four other missionaries as part of Team Shemah. We will share living spaces, finances, and minister together daily. A powerful part of our year will be pressing in more deeply to community and practicing sacrificial love daily with our team members. We can't wait to see God show up!

What will we do?

The short answer is … anything our ministry contacts ask us to do! We will partner with existing indigenous ministries in each country and will seek to assist them however local Christian leaders decide is most helpful to them. We are going to learn, to serve, and to grow. We expect God to utilize our spiritual gifts while growing us in the areas we are weak.

Some specific areas of ministry might be…

    • Preaching the good news of God's kingdom
    • Teaching English, Theology classes, and other subjects to those hungry for knowledge
    • Building relationships with marginalized people groups, like the Roma People (Gypsies) of Eastern Europe or the Dalit (lowest caste in India)
    • Fighting human trafficking while seeking to bring hope and healing through aftercare programs
    • Caring for orphans and widows
    • Building friendships with Muslims and Hindus
    • Ministering through Sports Evangelism
    • Interceding in prayer for the oppressed
    • Helping to strengthen local churches

We prayerfully hope that our year will look like
Isaiah 58:6-12:

"Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you;
the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.'
If you take away the yoke from your midst,
the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,

If you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
then shall your light rise in the darkness
and your gloom be as the noonday.

And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.

And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;
you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
the restorer of streets to dwell in."
