In ONE month I already have over $1,000 raised for The World Race! This is big news and I’m so incredibly greatful for each and every one of you who have donated money, supported my T-shirt fundraiser, shared my fundraisers on facebook, your prayers, your kind words, and all the encouragement I’ve received.
It makes fundraising so much more exciting when I have people who believe in what I’m doing and are willing to help me at all costs. And for that I’m thankful.
So with the donation letters sent out and the T-shirt fundraiser done many of you have asked what’s next?
I’m so glad you asked. Two words. Pie Auction.
Because who doesn’t like pie?
On November 1st I’ll be having a pie auction at The Cube (the corner of Council Road and 30th Street in Bethany, OK) from 7:00-9:00. This will be a silent auction with lots of pies to bid on. There will also be other desserts like cupcakes, cookies, tea, and soda available with a donation!
During our time at the Pie Auction I’ll be talking more in depth about what the World Race is, their mission, and different aspects of the race like training camp, launch, travel days, parents week, and many other things. I’ll be showing videos from past racers who provide a really great visual of what I’ll be experiencing next year. I’ll also have time at the end of the night for questions you might have for me.
How can you help?
I still need about 10 more pies to be donated to the auction. (Half will be going to a party held at the church across the street, half will be with me)
If you can’t make pies but want to make cookies or cupcakes to donate would greatly appreciate that as well.
If you aren’t good at baking the biggest thing you can do is just COME! and tell your FRIENDS to COME! This will be a big flop if no one shows up. (My biggest fear)
