Hey everyone! This week I decided to do a photo blog and show you some pictures of what I’ve been doing here in Cambodia!
This is my team – Team Abundance – there are nine of us girls plus our leader Aly. This is a picture of us outside of our home waiting for our tuk tuk to pick us up on our first day of ministry.
Besides tuk tuks, we also use bikes a lot to get around. It’s a lot of fun – sometimes we even try to ride on the back of each other’s bikes – we’re not great at it.
Headed to drop off some of our laundry on our second day in Cambodia – lots of dirty clothes from all the travel days.
These are some of the kids at the school we work at. On Fridays they work on the organic farm the school is located on – helping to plant, pull weeds, and water the garden.
This is the room I live in. There are 18 girls who stay in this room. It’s a lot of fun, kind of like a giant sleepover on the floor every night.
A closer up version of my “room”. Those shelves hold basically everything I own on the race. The wall is decorated with notes and pictures from some of the kids I babysit back home that my parents brought me during PVT a few weeks ago.
The backseat view from one of the tuk tuk’s. This man was so sweet, he drove my friend Alivia and I to the bamboo train the other week.
Alivia, me, and our new friend Anna from France, getting ready to ride the bamboo train.
We bought a coconut to drink on the train ride back.
Dancing in the rain one day at ministry. It’s been raining quite a bit recently, and even though it only lasts for a few minutes, it’s a nice break from the heat.
This past Sunday we went to a river to worship and spend time with people from the church we attend here in Battambang. The young people at the church are so welcoming and we had such a fun time worshipping, reading the bible, and swimming afterwards.
This is our tuk tuk driver Sam who takes us too and from ministry every day. He also drove us to the river on Sunday and stayed to swim. There were funny animal statues all over the park by the river, so naturally we had to teach him how to take a selfie with us.
Walking around one of our first days in Cambodia.
The kids at school love to play this game where they hold a string and have to jump over it. It both scares and amazes me, they are amazing jumpers.
Fro-yo date with some of the girls on my squad.
The sunsets here are incredible.
One evening at the balcony outside our room, watching the kids in the street play below.
The kids at our school washing dishes after lunch. Serving lunch is my favorite part of the day, and the genuine servant hearts of all of these kids are so inspiring.
The beginning of my journey of trying new foods and using chopsticks in Cambodia.
Spending time with friends at coffee shops is a frequent pass time on the weekends.
Cambodia has been amazing so far and I am so excited for the next two months here!
photo creds to lots of the girls on my team 🙂
