In life there will be highs and lows, times of extreme happiness and pain.

Times where friends are plentiful, times where they seem scarce. Events that make us happy, wedding, birth of new child, promotion…Events that make us sorrow, loss of close loved one, loss of relationship, loss of job…Times when things make sense and events that make no sense. And yet to all 3 people groups below I believe God is inviting you to Trust Him.

 To unbelievers:

I don’t know nor presume to know you or where you feel happiness and pain. Yet I believe in the midst of your life there is a deep need for more, you can’t explain it.The new car, house, spouse or promotion will never fill this need; no measure of any material substance will ever be enough to satisfy. I don’t claim to know your pain or how many times your trust has been broken. And yet there is a healer, someone who knows all your pain and sin and cares for you…

(Romans 5:6-8)

I believe this day that God is saying to you TRUST ME…

To believers (in general):

To those who have trusted Jesus as your personal Savior, do you trust Jesus as your Lord? The word Lord implies He is your master, your ruler…the one who directs our life. We all have plans, and things we would like to see come to pass…Maybe you had a relationship that you thought was the one and it didn’t work out. Maybe you had a position or title and it hasn’t worked like you imagined. Maybe you had a loved one pass suddenly and you’re left with many questions…I don’t know nor can I claim to know your pain or frustration, yet there is a healer, Someone who knows all your pain and walks with you through the highs and lows I believe today God is saying to you TRUST ME (Matt 11:28-30)

To believers (those going with me on the trip):

To my squad mates, I am grateful in the Lord to be numbered with you. A group of people that are willing to leave everything and serve the Lord. I believe each one of us will be tested and refined on this journey next year.

There will be times of great Joy and times of great pain. Times where we will feel united in fellowship that few experience, and times where we feel alone… Times when events confirm our theology of who we understand God to be in our experience thus far, and times when God works in ways that are to wonderful to be confined to our current understanding…Yet all spiritual gifts and events will reveal and draw people to God. (1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14)

There will be times where we all agree, and times where it is difficult to agree, yet in all this we submit to Christ, and pray for those who lead our group. (Philippians 2:5-11) To realize we are just stewards of what God has given us for a time. This journey belongs to no one person or even team, It‘s the Lords doing and He alone will receive the glory. I believe that in the highs and lows, and on the tough days that await us, God is saying TRUST ME

On my way to the Atlanta Airport yesterday, after training camp, the song below came on in the car and God was saying TRUST ME and rest. For the first time in a long time I’m letting go and resting in the Lord, enjoying the journey…
