It seems like at the end of every month the time flew by… Like you breathed in and exhaled and in the mean time a month passed.
My team was in Uyuni and Llica Bolivia this month. (In the desert)
At the start of the month we helped at a church retreat and in the middle of the month we taught English at a school.
Yet there are moments in the month were time seems to stand still.
Like the time we had to fill water bottles in Llica to do laundry and wash dishes. Like the time the water faucet didn’t have water…the houses at the top of the hill don’t always get water pressure.
It was that day we met Flora – an older woman who was a widow and helping to raise her grand children.
She explained that she trusted in God
To provide for her even when times got tough and that she would share what she had with others.
Being at the bottom of the hill she had a working water faucet and gave us water for a few days… A stranger showing kindness. Well, it was more like meeting family you didn’t know you had.
Another moment where time stopped was when we heard Phil and Sarah -Christian missionaries – were in an accident. Though not with our group and not knowing them well… The Church is one body when one member hurts we all do…
And then you exhale and head for a major city to be with the group…you talk about each other’s months… Home…and how it was difficult to say goodbye to Bolivia…
