Wow! Month two is almost over, where has time gone? It feels like I have only been here for two weeks, with the long days and the short weeks and even shorter months. It is hard to believe I have been living in Thailand for two months and that I am about to move to Malaysia for a month. Before I move onto to Malaysia let me catch you up on what has been happening in Thailand these past two months.
Month one:
Last month my team had ministry at an orphanage where we did a ton of manual labor. (it was hard at times but we loved it) Including but not exclusive to: weeding, mowing, chopping down trees, trimming trees, mixing concrete, pouring concrete, mulching and relocating palm trees. Once a week on Saturdays we got the opportunity to hang out with the precious kids that lived on the property we were working on. We played games, helped teach them English and ran around laughing and having fun with them. My heart for Thailand grew so much in the first month.
Month two:
Month two started with my team thinking we were going into a ministry that a different team on our squad had just finished. Rewind three blogs ago when I wrote about no expectations, again our expectations were shattered as soon as we found out our ministry changed. It changed from working in a Christian book warehouse to helping renovate a new property our ministry had just bought at the beginning of the month. My team was set on the task of completely revamping the house on the property that the groundskeeper and his family will live in. For the past two weeks we have been repainting the entire house, inside and out. Every wall, every window frame, and every decorative metal window bar. This month has been really repetitive painting everyday but it has been really rewarding being able to see the pride in the faces of the family that will soon move into the newly painted house.
Next week we head to Malaysia via a 30 hour bus ride. Onto another amazing month in another amazing country!
As the end of the year approaches so does my final support raising deadline! We have completely crushed this support raising thing, with only $1473 left! I am so l thankful for all the support and it blows my mind daily that I am really here and am able to serve the Lord because of all the generous people I love so dearly. If you are able to, please pray about helping me reach my final deadline that will allow me to stay right where I am spreading the Lords kingdom!
