Hello, dear friends and family! Welcome to my blog. It’s quite empty right now but it will be full of great adventures and stories in no time! I’m guessing you might be wondering, “How did you end up choosing World Race over college?” Well let me start a couple years back, by a couple I mean at least ten. When I was growing up I used to tell everyone that I was going to be a missionary in Africa. As I got older I stopped telling people that I was going to Africa and I even forgot that I used to think that until a couple of weeks ago. Flash forward to the fall of 2017, the beginning of my senior year of high school, when my mom started asking if I was interested in going on a summer mission trip. I didn’t really think it could happen so I put it in the back of my mind and went on with my life like normal. Then January rolled around and I went to Passion Conference. While I was at Passion my mom sent me this text that said,

“Dream big, baby. Dream and work towards it. It may take time but big dreams are ok. Good in fact. What dream can you and God accomplish? If you can accomplish it on your own, you’re not dreaming big enough.”

Only an hour after receiving this text a women started telling my group about her daughter who is on World Race right now. She told us about the amazing things her daughter was experiencing and how much of a blessing World Race was for her. After we finished talking to her I couldn’t get the thought of it out of my head. That night when I got to my hotel room I started researching World Race. The seed had been planted and it wasn’t going away.

When we returned home I started praying hard for a sign and began reading the Great Commission. My mind was consumed in thoughts and prayers about World Race. The Sunday after I started praying I went to church and my pastor taught on the Great Commission. There was my sign!  How crazy is that? After that day I kept praying about it and asked God to close the door if it wasn’t in His will for me. That week I applied and told myself that if I was accepted that was what God had planned for me. Two weeks later I was accepted.

This is only the beginning of the story with months ahead and many adventures to be had.  I ask you to pray for me though this whole journey, pray that I will be able to fundraise the money needed to go on this trip and pray for my safety. Most importantly, pray God speaks through me to the least of these throughout this whole experience. Also pray about what God is asking you to donate to my journey; whether that means gear, money or prayer. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read the beginning of my journey. I hope you’ll stick around to hear about the many adventures to come!

                                                Love,
