Last week I traveled with my church on a mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico. After signing up for world race I didn’t think I would be able to go this year. Reynosa is where I fell in love with missions five years ago, so of course I wanted to be able to go back before I went on my World Race trip. It is truly my favorite place I have ever been. With all the craziness that is getting ready to going on WR I wasn’t sure I would be able to go. But God made it possible! I am so grateful that I was able to go back and serve in the place where I fell in love with missions. To be able to go with some of my youth group “kids” and with my little sister was such a blessing. I got to watch my little sister experience the place and the people that I love so much. Seeing that made me the happiest big sister.

Every year we build a house for a family that is in need while there. This year we had a smaller group then we have in years past, which stressed a couple of us out. We are used to the older guys building the house and the rest of us either working VBS or painting. So when I saw the list of names I automatically questioned whether we would be able to build a house. I made a joke saying that it would be us girls building the house not being serious at all. But let me tell you God has a sense of humor because the girls on that trip were right next to the guys working on that house. It was amazing being so involved in the building process.

Before I left for Mexico I had been feeling discouraged about how my fundraising was going and I was just getting nervous over all. On that trip I was able to reclaim my passion and my drive for this mission. It reminded me of my love for missions and it got me even more excited to be able to travel to the other side of the world to show the love of God to His people. God knew exactly what he was doing when he allowed me to go on that trip. He knew that the attacks of the devil would be outshined by His plan for that trip!

Now that I’m back it is time to get ready for training camp that starts in 7 days! I am so excited to meet my team and get to know them before we head to Thailand in 67 days! Thank you so much for taking time to read this and for the amazing support I have been receiving!
