I know I said I was going to post every Wednesday but God has push me into posting one early. God has been doing so many things and its only been 5 days when God first called us to be in San Ignacio, Belize. My team and I have been given the mission to do a ATL (Ask the Lord) this month which means we take the time to listen to what God has called us to do. On the first day we decided to get up early in the morning to have a worship time and to fast for the first half of the day. So we decided that we were called to get to know the people of San Ignacio and the city itself. Along with that we have met some great people along the way like our guide who we met at the bus stop and he has be around us for the beginning along with his fourteen year old son who has pretty much been hanging around with us 24/7 haha!
There are a lot of things that God has done for us the past few days but I wanted to share something that God has done with me since I have been here. I was struggling with doubts about my team and with the ATL month. But God has shown me how to work with my team through good communication and along with learning how to listen to what God has in store for me. One of the biggest things that has happen to me this week was mention in the title of my blog ”God wanted me to go WELD”! When i was walking along the up hill street that we have not walked up yet and i saw this sign say Iris welding. Which got me really thrill because that was something i kinda did back home in Indiana. So i went in their shop to ask if i would like to help out but i was wearing sandals that day. I couldn’t do that because of the safety reasons. Because in welding you have to wear a lot of equipment to not get burned. But i did get to help with taking some burrs and debree off and to cleans some of the weld spots as well. With being in a trade and my family being a bunch of blue collar people. It was a good chance for me to minister to these men. One of the guys in my first picture above was blind in his left eye and we were able to pray over it. There was another guy who had a big burn on his arm which of course prayed over too!
That was the point were God was really pushing me to evangelize and ever since then i haven’t had any problem with connecting with any of my people of San Ignacio! I know back I’ve had issues connecting with people on a spiritual level. But i do remember in Fort Wayne when connected with some old men at my apartment complex and did a lot with them by working on cars, playing cards and just talking about life in general. That’s is what i plan on doing during my ATL month and so far i would not trade this experience with anything!
