Every day it seems to become a little more real. From the equipment that has taken over my room, to the conversation with family and friends, and now with training camp only two days away there is no denying the fact that launch is just around the corner. Fear of separation from family and friends has tried to take away the joy of the adventure, but, no longer. The excitement of training camp has been building every sense I received the acceptance phone call in early March and that yearning to be a part of something bigger then me has overpowered all fear. Over the next week I will be introduced to the people that will become my family for the next year. We will be built up, broken down, and made new by the great test known as Training Camp. This is a journey that marks many mile stones of the past year. It marks two and a half months until launch, it marks my first financial deadline, and it marks the end of a chapter in my life. The chapter that I’m closing is one where it was easy to rely on the American way of life and our fast food type of society but, that is no longer the case. As a racer I’m going to have to play by a new set of rules. Now I will have to rely on God totally and completely for everything. I’m so excited to begin this new chapter but, I can’t do it alone. I need help in funding this mission.
