My squad just started doing this to get to know each other early. It has been cool to learn bits and pieces about everyone! So this is for them and anyone else who wants to learn more about me.
I already put some of my favorite random facts about me on my Get to Know Me page, so check those out first if you haven't already. This list will expand from there.
Here we go:
- I'm 6'5" but not the tallest in my family. (My dad is an inch or two taller.)
- Awkward things happen to me all the time, especially while I'm travelling. My height makes this worse.
- I like to embrace my inner-awkwardness.
- I can laugh at myself easily and nothing really embarrasses me.
- My last big awkward moment was accidentally setting off the fire alarm at my school cafeteria. Hundreds of people had to evacuate in the pouring rain until the fire department got there.
- I love finding weird and bizarre foods to eat.
- I eat a lot and can down literally just about anything. (If you are a picky eater, please sit next to me!)
- Ironically, I eat very healthy at home and avoid a lot of unhealthy foods.
- Fast food is extremely rare for me to eat, unless I'm abroad.
- I like spicy food way more than my body does.
- I love writing and want to freelance someday as a travel writer.
- I am so glad blogging is a part of the WR program!
- I love personality tests and theories.
- I was excited when I found out a brief Myers-Briggs test was required for the World Race. Now I can talk to other racers about it.
- I am both an extrovert and an introvert, so I consider myself an ambivert. Tests usually score me dead even between the two, but the strongest questions are true both ways.
- I am an ENFP on the Myers-Briggs, but I consider myself an ANFP because the ENFP and INFP descriptions are both very descriptive of me.
- I am a Type-2 (Helper) on the Enneagram. (If you like personality tests and haven't taken this one, you should check out this awesome site.)
- I enjoy listening more than talking.
- I ask a lot of questions, both to clarify and get other people thinking.
- I have a great memory that can creep people out if I'm not careful.
- I value self-sacrifice and giving, but I can easily forget my own needs and let this get to an unhealthy level.
- I can care too much about what other people think.
- Because of this, I have to meticulously reread anything I write, including text messages and Facebook posts.
- I tend to write thoughts down over time before blogging. I also go back and change things a lot after I post them. (I am doing this right now.)
- I am very spontaneous and random.
- I take a lot of chances.
- I laugh a lot and have a quirky sense of humor.
- I almost think a joke is funnier if nobody gets it.
- My eyes are blue with a ring of yellow on the inside.
- Falling asleep is very difficult for me and so is waking up.
- I am not very flexible and need to stretch more.
- I love donating blood, but I haven't been able to for a while because of travel. It will be even longer until I can after the Race.
- My blood type is B+, which isn't common but also isn't too rare.
- I am an altitude junkie and like to know how high I am. I usually carry an altimeter with me when I hike, bike, or travel.
- I think mountains are the coolest things ever. I love climbing them, but I don't have very much technical experience.
- The place I wish to travel the most is Antarctica. Someday I'll get there.
- I absolutely love bicycling.

- Over the summer I wear Chacos every day to work.

- I can be kind of a packrat. My closet is packed and I still have a lot of assignments from high school and college.
- I like making videos, but I haven't made any new ones in a while.
- I used to play the piano and loved playing video game music.
- I haven't played many video games since early high school.
- Ironically, I like to write and arrange music, but I can't really read sheet music.
- I can literally listen to any type of music and appreciate what goes into it.
- I didn't get an iPod until my freshman year of college. I still don't listen to it very often and prefer silence when I am alone.
- I also didn't get a cell phone until after high school. It's not really necessary when you live on a small island.
- I am stoked to spend almost a year abroad with such awesome people! 🙂
