Our one biggest job during our time on this earth is to learn to love our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. And God is so faithful and loving to us, even if we don’t choose him back all the time. Learning to love something with every ounce of your existence may seem overwhelming, but the funny part is that God makes it so easy for us. There’s nothing more perfect than him that we could invest ourselves in.
Spending time in worship is something I do often. But I’ve learned that focusing on God’s reverence makes everything different. Yes, this means praising the Lord for His goodness, mercy and grace in my life and thanking Him for all that He’s done for me. But more importantly, it means that I’m spending time in overflow of His holiness and recognizing Him as king of everything. Not asking for anything. Just telling Him that He’s good.
The bible says to fear God. I don’t think that he wants us to fear him in the most common sense of the word, to cower beneath his presence. But I believe that He wants us as His children to understand how all-powerful, ancient, holy He is and the deep respect that comes with being in relation with the creator of everything.
Yes, God is always with us and all around us. It’s such a wonderful thing that we can be close to Him ! But I also think it’s important not to miss the hugeness of who He actually is.
I finished the nt recently and collected every name the scriptures have for Jesus Matthew- revelation. Its crazy how diverse Jesus was; I mean he was all things to all people. But I think one of the most powerful descriptions of him is in revelation.
Revelation 19:11-13 ~
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.”
This is Jesus in full glory. But he is also all of these other things ~

Learning about Jesus and realizing that He is all of these things but also so much more to me has definitely taught me more about how to be in full communion with the Son and the Father everyday.
I just wanted to share what I’ve about how ministering to the Lord can put our relationship with Him in a more esteemed perspective. How blessed we are that this is our reality, that intimacy with Him is a journey that God can always lead us deeper into and we can always discover more about the reverence and holiness of His character!
