So, here's something everyone may not know. This World Race costs $15,500 plus my expenses to get to training camp and then to the launch location.
For the price of a small economy car in the United States, I will be working around the world for 11 months.
Here's what the money goes towards what the organization provides me:
food, lodging, and air, land & sea travel. It also covers administrative, setup, coaching, debrief, and training costs prior to and at the start of the Race.
It does not include: personal spending money, travel to the training, travel to the start point, return travel home from a major U.S. city at the conclusion of the Race, medical insurance [required], and vaccinations.
I am not asking for personal spending money. I'm not going on a vacation getaway or shopping spree.
I am, however, asking for help bearing this cost. I know God will provide. And He could use you to be the means through which He chooses to bless me for this cause.
I am really starting from ground zero. But Chuck Smith said "Where God leads, God provides." So I'm stepping out in faith that this is where God called me.
Now I am humbling myself to ask for your prayer support and financial support. You may be thinking along the lines of "Well, if you want to go, YOU pay for it!" And I really pray that this would not be your heart towards missionary work.
You see, it's not really about me. It's not JUST about "Missionary Mel."
It's about the Great Commission and about the opportunity to abound in blessings. It's all about the Gospel. Why? Because we are the body. We are a family. We play for the same team. We reside in the same kingdom and our Father is the King of Kings. He truly wants to have us pray for "on earth as it is in heaven."
So I'm inviting you to be changed with me on my journey. I'm asking you to be on my team. I'm asking that you'll pray and help support as the Lord leads you.
