Here I am.
Six months has passed since I posted my Where Am I At blog, and I’m sitting in the Miami airport ready to leave for Serbia. Yep, you read that right. I’m READY to leave. It’s been an insane process, but I can finally say that I’m ready. Or as ready as I could ever be. The travel day has already been long, but I won’t even arrive in Serbia until Wednesday morning and I won’t get into Sombor until the afternoon on Wednesday. (I’ll be in Sombor, Serbia for my first month of the race!) I’m sitting here just sort of contemplating what it’s actually like for this moment to come, and I have to say it’s completely surreal. It hasn’t really hit me yet and I’m not quite sure when it will. As soon as it hits I’ll let you know. I’m trying to think what this year is going to be like and so far this is what I’ve got:
God’s going to do crazy things (AND I MEAN CRAZY)!
God wants me to live BOLDLY these next 11 months.
Evangelism will become/is becoming a part of my story.
I’m going to start journaling.
My team will become my family.
I’m going to learn about the character of God.
I’m not going to get a lot of sleep.
God’s going to teach me about his character… And yes that might be similar to the earlier point, but I think that’s a huge thing. I get to learn about the God of the universe.
I’m going to try amazing food, and probably get sick in the process.
This year is going to be insane, and this list will be way longer by the end of the year.
So here I am God. I’m ready to learn about who you are. I’m ready to grow as a man of God. I’m ready to be used. I’m ready for community. I’m ready to feel emotions. I’m ready to be broken. I’m ready. Here I am, Lord. Here I am.
