"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."     – Colossians 3:15

I didn’t think of others.

Whenever you look for a job in America you first look to see how it benefits you. You check the wage, working hours, and if they offer medical and/or dental insurance. That’s how I looked into being a missionary. It didn’t pay, you worked 24/7, and you don’t even understand what the medical policy says.

I forgot to check how many people I would help, how the Kingdom of God would spread, and how God would wreck my life for personal growth in Him.

Being a missionary isn’t about you.

It’s about the village in the Himalayas who haven’t seen outsider in years or heard the gospel. It’s about the children who live in a trash dump in Central America who just need love. It’s about the blind and sick in Eastern Europe looking for any healing in their lives.

When God called me into missions I stopped saying, “I’m 21 and my life has just begun.” I started saying, “I’m 21 and my life has just begun!!!” Why can’t I begin a huge year of growth, vulnerability, sacrifice, and any other thing that God has for me when I’m young!? I stopped listening to my own stupid excuses and walked the tightrope straight towards my Savior.

This path is not dirty and littered with things in the way of my walk.

It is wide and paved with pure, bright gold so I wouldn’t get lost

Now I have something for YOU!

In my church, less than 1% of us are missionaries. Is that how God wanted us to go to the world? Less than 1% of us? That can’t be how God envisioned His Kingdom spreading. I urge you to sacrifice. Whether it’s 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 20 years! Don’t let excuses keep you back.

Don’t let the excuse of having a job dominate.
God’s got your back.
You will have a job when you get back.

Don’t let the excuse of no money dominate.
God’s got your back.
You will have more than enough to go and come back.

Don’t let the excuse of no house dominate.
God’s got your back.
You will have a house when you come back.

Don’t let the excuse of physical disabilities dominate.
God’s got your back.
You can be healed!

Don’t let the excuse of not knowing where to go dominate.
God’s got your back.
Find your passion and He will show you where you need to be.

Don’t let the excuse of no schooling dominate.
God’s got your back.
You won’t need it.

Don’t let the excuse of not knowing enough of the Bible dominate.
God’s got your back.
Have you ever heard of divine wisdom?

This isn’t being irresponsible. This is being realistic in your faith in our Father who takes very good care of each of us. There are more international missionaries in America, just sitting back and relaxing. Quit pretending that you aren’t needed.

I guarantee you that your life will change.

You can choose to listen to the words of a young missionary. Or you can choose to ignore the words or a young missionary who has already seen the ups and downs in just 45 days. I'm not telling you what to do. I'm sharing what God has put on my heart to share.

Stop making petty excuses. Just GO
