“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
Training Camp (TC for short) just finished. I went into TC having no idea what I was getting into. Some people posted blogs about what might be coming up but I didn’t want to search so intently for them. Every time I asked a WR Alumni about TC all they said was, “It was the best week of my life.” And it was.
The leadership team of the World Race really wants TC to be a surprise. They are training us to be prepared for the unexpected. Countries can be changed at anytime, we won’t be knowing what our ministry will be until we get to our location, our schedule can change from one breath to the next.
Usually I would hate not knowing what I am doing for the next week. But God really gave me peace. He showed me that He really is in control. He knows what we’re doing, when we’re doing it, how we’re going to be doing it, and everything else in between. I trust Him.
Here are some of the other things that I learned this week:
- You can live a year out of a 30 liter backpack (this is not exaggerated)
- Just because you’re an extrovert, it doesn’t mean you can’t be introverted (and vice-versa)
- You decide how much you let your parents into your life, not the other way around
- I can hike 20 miles in 2 days (awesome accomplishment)
- Circumstances can change instantly
- I start smelling really quickly without showering
- Fundraise like it all depends on you, have faith that it all depends on God
- Indian food is amazing
- Blogging is way more important than I thought
- I seriously can’t do all of this by myself
- God trusts me
This week has been the most growing, hilarious, impacting, fun, and beautiful week of my life. God has taught me so much. He’s taught me many practical things to be ready for missions. He’s taught me many many many many many many many many many other things for a better spiritual walk with Him.
I just want to let my supporters, friends, and family that I am taking this trip more than 1,000% more seriously. I know that I need to step up my act and get things prepared to leave. I have realized that I am being sent out to a calling of being a part of the Kingdom. There are many ways that we can all be a part of God’s Kingdom and the World Race is what He has called for me and 50 others!
Be prepared to see the reality of the supernatural in this journey. Get ready for lives to be changed. Come and see how we are all together to build the Kingdom.
Here’s a training camp that I put together that shows a very small glimpse of our experiences:
I am still in need of $3,500 to launch in July. Here are my financial deadlines:

Your Brother in Christ,
