"Two are better than one, because they have a good return of their work: if one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!"   – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Dear MHS Class of 2011,

How is everything with you? It’s been three years since we all graduated and moved on into adulthood. I haven’t kept in contact with the majority of my fellow classmates and I apologize for that. I miss hanging out with you all for the five of our seven days of the week. Some of you knew me as the loud laugh or the annoying redhead or the short kid or the homo turned Christian or even the kid who partied with no consequences. But I really wasn’t any of those (except for the loud laugh).

I was a kid who practically lost his family and was just trying to regain my childhood while stealing to survive. In the midst of the most difficult time of my life I still was able to keep going. In high school I tried to just fit in with the ‘cool’ kids. In reality I thought they were ridiculous. No offense to you prep and jock people but I just felt like I couldn’t fit in with you. I was a dramatic kid and I honestly thought I couldn’t be completely fulfilled without being with the in crowd.

Then I realized that I didn’t need to fit in to have a good life. I mean we’re all different and going out into the world to do different things anyways. Just look at the city of Portland! They have the weirdest people, businesses, and attractions and yet they still have one hell of a city. Rachel Fox is becoming a nurse, Brent Fessler is going to be an official farmer, and Megan Light is studying Psych! We all are integrating into society to make ourselves useful to those around us.

I went to Bible College for a year after I graduated but I am no longer there. I know some of you don’t believe in a God but I do. He called me into something called the World Race, which is an 11 month, 11 country missions trip. It’s an insane trip where I am abandoning all of my worldly possessions to live just out of a backpack and spread the Gospel. I have been wrecked time after time in just these last two months and I have grown insanely from it.

This trip is costly and I still need money for it. From just the two months myself and my team were able to give the hungry food, open doors for teens to have a safe place to hangout, help a family clean up their house since they don’t have anywhere else to throw away their garbage, and many other things. I could really use your help because I’ve integrated myself into missions. I’ve seen the classic White Buffalo spirit and how you rally together to help others. Please consider helping me through finances, support, networking, praying, or any other way. Every penny and ounce of time helps not just me but the 11 countries that I’m going to.

I respect the fact that anyone has freedom in what they believe. I’m not here to stuff a Bible down your throat and say you’re wrong. I’m here to say that I love you guys and I’m here for you in any way. I may have limited access to Internet and low personal money but I would still try to help. If you need anything just email me, Facebook message me, Gram me, Tweet me, comment on my blog! I love you guys and I’m praying fiercely for you.

Your Loud Classmate,
Hunter Young
