Hi!! I came across this passage a few months ago and it has stuck with me since I read it. The passage really speaks for itself, so here is it below.
“For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship. What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.” – 1 Corinthians 9:16-18
I love this passage, because it so clearly calls believers to preach the Gospel continually. We can either preach out of obedience as all believers have been called to (“entrusted with a stewardship”) or we can do it willingly and joyfully. Either way, we have but one option and that is to make God known and advance His Kingdom.
What a joy it is to proclaim the Gospel message. It is absolute peace and perfect love, something not fully comprehensible, yet deeply felt. A beautiful truth.
