We drove in on a rocky road, being beaten left and right as the farm truck's shocks attempted to absorb the pounding.  I have never felt quite as tired as I had this morning, but I knew that faithfully trusting in God to give me strength that He would provide.  I had thoughts that I was too tired or my headache this morning was terms for me staying home, but I heard God say, "go." So I went.

As I was sitting in the dusty road by the sound equipment, a small older woman approached Katie sitting next to me.  Katie is from Team Cherished, who we are with this month doing ministry.  Victor said, "She wants you to pray for her eyes to be healed."

We both stood up to greet the woman, her name is Julia Garcia and she is a very sweet lady.  We began to pray for her and Jill, another Team Cherished member, joined us as we prayed.  We each prayed a small simple prayer for healing and said, "Amen."

It didn't stop there.  Julia kept praying and I was impressed to continue to pray with her.  I looked over and Katie was still there praying with us.

There was chaos happening all around.  Victor was yelling into the microphone, the other gringos were playing with the kids and there were people next to us talking about the plan for the service that was about to take place.

But there was peace in our circle.  A peace that I cannot explain with words.  A peace that must be experienced.

We prayed for about fifteen more minutes and Julia began to raise her arms.  She raised her arms in surrender to God.  As she raised them up, she began to cry.  I felt the Holy Spirit descend on our prayer circle and then Julia began to clap.  She began to clap and began to speak quietly.

Finally, she said, "Amen."

We asked her if she had new eyes in Spanish and she said, "Si, tengo nuevo ojos." I have new eyes.

Jesus gave her new eyes.

Quickly she invited Katie and I down to her house.  We met her granddaughter and great-grandson.  She got some water and we walked back to the service.

As I was doing a drama I felt the Lord say to me, "you gave her new eyes but now it is time for her to receive a new heart.  She isn't a Christian and she is ready to receive me."

After we finished the drama, I walked over by her but was unable to speak with her.  Victor starts explaining the drama we just did and he begins to speak about Jesus.  As he is speaking, I am watching her.  Watching her reactions and listening to what he is saying.  He begins to ask if there is anyone here today that is not a Christian to pray a prayer to receive Christ into their heart and become a Christian.

He starts praying and she repeats every word that he says.

Victor came over after and she told him that she received Christ.

Today, Julia received new eyes and a new trust in Jesus as her savior.
