The water truck came out and filled the pool with clean
water the morning of the baptism. The kids were nervous and full of excitement.
A few of the boys had invited their mothers. Sadly the mothers decided they had
better things to do so the boys were disappointed, although they tried not to
show it. However despite that they were crowding around the small little pool
ready and eager to dedicate their lives to Christ. We prayed and sang a song as
we started. Then it was time. The boys all wanted to go first many of them
jumping around because they couldn’t hold back the excitement. Henry went
first. Henry lives on the farm with Tony and Tony’s wife Nidia.

Henry’s life has been
transformed in the past few years and he love God so much. It was so special
watching him and seeing his face as he got out of the pool, it was so full of
love; it was so beautiful. Then it was Carlos’ turn and after he was baptized
this bright smile came across his face! As soon as one boy was done being
baptized another would jump in so excited and ready to be baptized. Joy was bursting out of
every molecule of the air around us! The laughter and smiles across the faces of
the boys were heartwarming. Here were six of the most loving, sweet,
protective young men. They had been overlooked and called hopeless in the past
by people who didn’t even take the time to know them or to be part of their
lives.
Here is a  video of the baptism so you can see the
joy, smiles and excitement they all had that day as they dedicated their
lives to Christ through baptism, and to also share with you my
baptism and my teammates’ baptisms as well.

Also this is a blog from my friend Rachel on Christopher and Henry’s cousin who lives with her grandmother. http://racheliverson.theworldrace.org/?filename=an-angel-behind-the-dumpster
