Cambodia Overview

1. Team Changes: My team is no longer Trumpets of One, but RiCIcuLoUS! Michelle, Ricki, Kendall, Erin, Drew, Brian, and I! God you couldn’t have put a better team together 🙂

2. This was a short month especially because of the Khmer New Year.

3. Our ministry was leading Bible studies with the staff at Good News International School (GIES), teaching English to the English teachers, teaching English to children, and leading cell groups.

4. Normally I have mild anxiety when I speak in front of groups, but this month was different. I’m continually learning “listening” prayer and I felt like God wanted me to lead 3 Bible studies and speak on specific topics. It’s a good feeling knowing you’re being obedient to God.

Bible study topics:
1. Moses and how our confidence should be in God and not our own abilities, Moses’ obedience, perseverance, how ordinary people can do extra ordinary things with God, etc
2. Spiritual gifts: What some gifts are, why we should use them (edify the body), etc
3. The trinity focusing on the Holy Spirit, why God gave us the H.S., characteristics of the H.S., what our lives look like when the H.S. is living in us, etc

5. One reason I’m on the World Race is to find out what God wants for my life. I’ve been asking God if teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) is His plan for me. The more I teach the more I feel God calling me to it whether it’s in America or aboard. My heart is to empower people.

6. Even though our ministry at GIES was short I know God planned it that way. This month one of my ministries was blogging. I’m not the best blogger by any means, but I’m viewing it as a real ministry. Like yourself hundreds of people read the blogs and many past racers have changed people’s lives. Blogs make you think about your own walk with God, the way you view the world, things that God wants you to change in your life, stirring your heart to be passionate again whether it’s for God or people, etc. I’m almost caught up all my blogs from the previous months (just videos left). woo hoo!

7. Our team went to the Killing fields, Genocide Museum, Angkor Wat temples, and dressed up in traditional Cambodian and Thai outfits. We really bonded this month and I’m looking forward to the upcoming months.

7. Our team stayed at the University of Nations YWAM Cambodia. We fell in love with 2 of the staff there. Bopa is in charge of U of N and Ra was our tok tok driver. We spent every free moment together. We made memories I won’t ever forget!

8. We’re in Bangkok, Thailand for Debrief and can’t wait to find out our ministries.
