I have been in Malaysia for 3 days now and so far, I LOVE IT! I didn’t know what to expect at all, and my expectations weren’t high I confess, but this place is really cool. We are staying in Georgetown, on Penang Island in the Northeastern part of Malaysia.

We were in Kuala Lumpur for one night and saw the Petronas towers. I was excited!

We are now in the place where we will do ministry for the next 3 or so weeks. It’s a beautiful mix of cultures between Malaysia, India, and China all with a British influence. Confusing, right?

We have eaten Indian food with our fingers off a banana leaf and it was delicious! We are drinking local coffee that is a strong brew mixed with some hot water and at least 1/3 cup of sweetened condensed milk. The mixing technique is a long pour between cups that stretches the milk and makes it frothy on top. They serve it in a plastic bag with a string attached for “to go” orders.  It’s a yummy breakfast treat for about 45 cents (USD). I just don’t want to know how many calories is in it!
