VIB for a VIP on a VID! Translation…this is a very important blog for a very important person on a very important day! Today is my Dad’s birthday! April 15, yes it’s tax day which some might dread, but in my family it’s way more than that. Today, this blog commemorates something way bigger than a day in the life on the World Race, it celebrates an amazing man!

My Dad is the most significant man in my life. I’ve learned from him what it looks like to walk humbly, love mightily, give tirelessly, and find positivity in all situations. I love him for so many reasons. One is that he’s shown me what it looks like to be loved unconditionally by someone. They always say that girl looks for a man like her Father, and that’s probably why it’s taking me so long to find a man that measures up!

Many of you know some of the perks I’ve had being my Dad’s daughter. Just some of the highlights include:

  • Countless morning wake up calls and morning juice wake up.
  • Fishing at Silver Lake. He always cleans my fish for me and lets me use the glove for holding the fish in my pictures.
  • He always reminds me of the story of my birth when he found out he had a little girl
  • He’s a personal comedian to me when I need to cheer up. He can make light of any situation.
  • He doesn’t take a day for granted.
  • He makes life about me, my brother, and my Mom instead of himself.
Proverbs 15:33    The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

Romans 12:10     Honor one another before yourselves.

Both of these verses describe the character and actions of my Dad. I love them so much because of the word honor. My desire is to honor him today on his birthday. I love you so much Dad!

Your little pink light,

Holly
