Hey friends! I’m supposed to be taking this opportunity internet to blog and make sure all of you who know I’m in Thailand know we are safe and sound in our little remote village. So, I’m safe!
Now I’m wondering how many people reading this have any idea why I’m writing. If I weren’t here or didn’t have friends living in Thailand, I don’t think I would know about the political unrest and the protesting that has been going on in the country. So, I’m wondering how many people out there know about the red shirts and what is going on in Thailand right now and I’m going to give you a chance to ‘fess up in the comment section of this blog. The question is: Before this blog did you know there were potentially unsafe situations in Thailand and the US State department has a warning out for travel here?
I know that the trip coming here from PRCC is in jeopardy. I hope it works out because this is an amazing place and having the Allens as hosts is even better! I’m sure David and Michelle will know what’s best in the Chiang Mai area. As for me, we are scheduled to head back to Bangkok on an overnight bus Friday the 28th. Then on the night of 30th we are flying out to Kenya. Assuming the airport doesn’t get shut down we expect to follow this plan.
Pray for Thailand and that through all this uncertainty, people open their minds to think about faith in new ways. David told me last November that when the political system gets shaken, he believes it’s a good time for the gospel to break through here. I love that sort of attitude and optimism!
Have a great week!
