LAUNCH: The time has come. I have left home. I have said my final goodbyes, I have packed and repacked and shoved and pushed things in every little place I can. I am with my squad again. And I ask myself am I ready? Am I ready to leave my family for a year? Am I ready to live a minimalist life? Am I ready to step out of my comfort zone? Am I ready for God to transform me through the World Race?
But how do you become ready for something that will change your life forever? You don’t. I don’t have much advice in preparing for the World Race. All you can do is trust God and dive in. And that is simply what I am doing.
I have many emotions while here at Launch. I am excited to begin this joinery. I am anxious and ready to start doing ministry. I still have some fears about what to expect. I have had some sad moments as i said goodbye to my family. I have had happy moments being reunited with my squad. It is so many different emotions rolled into one.
While here at launch, we had more training to prepare us for what’s to come this next year. I have been here for 3 days so far and I only have one more day in the USA. And I can finally say, Yes, I am ready. We leave tomorrow night for the airport and leave out early Tuesday morning for our first stop, Haiti.
We will be working with Together We Can: Haiti. Once there we will be working with a local orphanage, working on a new water system for the local community, and working on a local farm. I am so excited to begin this first month on the World Race. Please join me in praying for salvation, for God’s love to be made known, for my team of seven girls and my squad of 40, pray for me as I adjust to life overseas, safety and please pray for my family. Also I can continue to raise support until month 6 on the field which is March if you would like to support me. Thank you all so much for your prayers, support and continuing to follow my journey.
If you would like to contact me I will continue to be on Facebook and you can email me at [email protected]. Or you can always leave me a message on my blog. I will also continue to have IMessage and facetime.
