Most Mission of Hope teams only come in for a week, but considering we were there for a month, that changed a bit of what we did.
Our squad spent the majority of our time, painting the orphanage, a few other buildings, and cutting grass with machetes.
On a few other occasions, some went to the assisted living facility, the tech school, and the north campus to do construction work.
Every day, one of the six teams would go into a village to get to know people and build relationships with them.
I love doing most of those things, but I started wondering what eternal value it all had.
I mean, I understood the time in the village, but why painting.
I began realizing, the work projects we did on the MOH campus opened so many doors for people who would be in Haiti much longer than us to minister to the Haitians.
In other words, we were helping to enable people to do sustainable ministry.
It was just a very pleasant reminder everyday that God has plans for the Haitians. He cares about them.
God used us to bless the MOH staff, the MOH interns, our translators, as well as the Haitian people we came into contact with.
I know at times it’s easy to feel as though what you’re doing is meaningless, but know God sees you.
Some of the girls from the orphanage came to thank us for painting their bedrooms, and told us how much it blessed them. Then they gave us a card from all of the kids in the orphanage.
God showed me a lot about how much He cares about details and I am so glad that He did.

Thank you for supporting me financially and through prayer. I am forever grateful for the support I have received.
