I have found myself frustrated with the journey that I’m on.
Wanting fruit, yet sowing nothing.
Perfectly fitting the stereotype of my generation.
I smiled as I remembered sitting on a bench last weekend outside of the Intercape bus station and I felt the Holy Spirit telling me patience. He told me patience as a word for someone else, but He made it so clear that it was for me just as much as the other person.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Everything that the Lord has told me for this month has lined up to patience.
Read Galatians. Read Hosea. Future. Clarity. Desires of my heart. Prayer life.
Make small decisions to get to big outcomes.
Learning to walk in and consistently carry patience does not negate the growth the Lord has already brought about in my life. Walking into deeper truth of my identity does not negate how far that I have already come and how far God has brought me.
Psalm 78:7 That they should put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments.
Patience: Quiet, steady perseverance.
Galatians 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
The steady perseverance is worth it because in the end, you will reap if you do not grow weary. God does not bring you to or through anything that has no purpose. He does not tell us to wait without purpose.
God is always intentional.
The fight and the struggle to get to where He is calling me to is worth it.
And He is with me through it all.
1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
