Hey ya’ll!

I made my first funraising deadline! Thank you to all who have donated so far!

So, this thing is starting to feel real. I went to Schaumburg yesterday with my friend Sarah to buy my pack, and I bought most of my other gear last night online when I got home.

As time seems to be going by much more quickly, I’ve been learning a few things along the way.

A little preface here. I leave for Training Camp one week from tomorrow. And tomorrow is the three year anniversary of the day my apartment burned down.

How are these related to now?

The night my apartment burned down was one of the first times that I finally understood that God has a plan for my life and I’m here on purpose with a purpose.

I’ve seen why God kept me alive that night several times since then, but I know there’s more.

There’s more people to help and there is so much more to learn. I have so much more room to grow.

God is not finished with me yet.

I don’t know what to expect in the next months leading up to the Race or what to expect when I’m on the Race, but I do know this.

Each person going on the Race is going on purpose with purpose. God has called each of us to do this thing, and I’m going to be obedient.

Stuff and possessions can be replaced. Human lives can’t.

As I embark on my road trip to Training Camp next week, I know I’m going to meet my great Squad in person and that I’m going to have a small idea more of what to expect, but I also know in the time approaching, I will be consistantly reminded that I’m not alive by mistake or coincidence.

My life has divine purpose for the kingdom of God.

If you are breathing, your life has purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

I maybe scared of what’s next, but no matter how frightening uncertainty maybe, I’m going to be obedient to the call that the Lord has placed on my life.

Please join me in prayer as my squad and I begin traveling to Training Camp next week, and as we prepare for the journey that lies ahead.

With the love of Christ,

Holly
