I hope at least a couple of you starting singing that song when you read the title.

I only have a minute, but let me assure all of you that I am in the Domincan Republic in a town called San Juan nestled between two mountain ranges approximately 6 hours from any coastline. We are staying in some homes and enjoying the people very much. I have learned so far that Dominicans have bon fires and hot cocoa in the street (we did that last night), love music, hate dogs (lots of strays… one of which I witnessed get hit by a car, roll under it, and run off yelping), always say hello (or buen dia…), and don´t really do tacos. The weather is hot and I am enjoying every minute so far. It was difficult to leave, but the Lord has really brought me to this amazing place of peace and readiness for the days ahead.
We are still in launch week, so we have training throughout the day and evening, spending our afternoons walking around and buying pinapple from street vendors. It has been great so far and I´m very excited to see what the Lord is going to do in our hearts this week. For now, adios y Dios te bendiga!!! (that means ¨bye and God bless you¨).
