I can’t believe I have been in Ireland almost a week! At times it feels like we have been here for a month, and other times I forget we are even in Ireland. The first few days were spent training with both J and K squads at a campground in Clondalkin. It was great to be with everyone and all of the AIM staff, but it was also very challenging. I know God has so much in store for all of us and it hit me during training that God is going to stretch and push us way beyond our limits. At times I feel anxious about all that is ahead of us, but I know that is partly why I am here – to learn how to trust God wholly and completely rely on Him alone. Right now I am in a café with some of my teammates, trying to put into words all that I have experienced so far and all that I am feeling…and it’s not easy! So here are a few pictures to show you what has been happening so far.

After a long day of travel, we arrived in Ireland (all 84 racers) and went to finish up our training in Clondalkin.

Race Day in Dublin. We were still exhausted from our flight so our team gave up on the scavenger hunt we were suppose to do and just had some fun in the city!

Ready for our bus ride to Dublin where we are working with Dublin Christian Missions, the 2nd oldest mission in the world. We are working with the Light House homeless ministry in the city. We are currently cleaning out the building where food and clothing are distributed and weekly services are held for those in need.

The people of Ireland seem to be rather hesitant to speak of religion.  After so many years of their government trying to push the Church onto them, most seem to want very little to do with it anymore. Please pray that as we continue to build relationships at the Light House, God would soften the hearts of those here in Dublin and be open to accept God’s grace and love.
