It has been one week since I returned home from 11 months of travel through 11 different countries. I’ve been asked on a few occasions, “how’s the world?” And while that’s a loaded question I’ll never be able to truthfully answer, it always brings me back to the world that I’ve experienced. I’m reminded of the faces I’ve seen, the people I’ve met, the laughs I’ve shared, the misunderstandings I’ve encountered, the love I’ve felt, the growth I’ve experienced within myself; and for a few short seconds I’m sure the person who asked the question is wondering where I went. I’m there physically in the conversation, but my mind traveled through 11+ countries to try to answer the question.
I’ve tasted only a glimpse of what each country is. I first thought one month would feel like a lifetime, but in reality its not long enough to grasp the enormity of the little pieces that fit to make a country its own. The culture, the religion, the history, the food, the people; diversity at its finest is something that would take some time to understand. However, I’ve learned more than I ever thought I would about each country I stepped foot in and I’m thankful for that. That I would be chosen to experience what I have has been the most humbling thought lately.
As I spend most of my days trying to process what I’ve experienced, I have been drawn to the moments that have been a constant friend and lovely memory to my heart and mind. Those moments are the ones that bring remembrance and remembrance brings thanksgiving to the King who spoke all things into being.
So, I want to share with you some of the moments that I was able to capture in a photograph. These photos encompass some of my favorite memories, people, and moments I experienced. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably walked with me through this journey through your prayers, or encouragement, or friendship and I thank you. I thank you for all you have done.
