The week before last my team and I had the opportunity to work at an elderly home in San Jose. We had so much fun meeting and hanging out with some of the most awesome people! I have never been in a nursing home that was so full of joy and life. We spent our time helping the nurses with physical therapy and playing games with the residents.
The sweet lady that I always helped was named Corina. Corina was the sassiest, sweetest lady that I have ever met. She happened to be 104 and acted like a little girl most of the time. She taught me so much about life and how to live it even when there was a huge language barrier. Here are some of the lessons I learned.
- It’s always necessary to have sassy nail polish.
- When you have said sassy nail polish, you better flaunt it!
- Sometimes you just need to cry and ask for a hug.
- You’re never too old to flirt.
- Always make sure your friends are being modest (even if that means fixing their clothes for them…this may or may not have happened to me).
- Just because you’re the oldest or the most fragile doesn’t mean you can’t be the best at something. Corina was always the only person to meet her PT goals!
- It’s okay to greive the things you’ve lost. Jesus will always bring comfort. Corina outlived her husband and her children and sometimes she would cry for a few minutes, but she would always leave with a smile.
- You’re never too old to sleep with dolls.
- Always have a hug and a kiss on the cheek ready for your dearest friends.
- You’re never too old to have a child-like spirit.
- Always live and love well.
There are so many more that I could go on forever. I know I’ll probably never see her again, but the things she taught me and her memory will stay in my heart forever. Sweet Corina, I’ll see you again in Glory!

So many things have happened since I last blogged. We ended our time at the elderly home and then spent an amazing 10 days in the rural town of Sarapiqui. There we met pastor Jose, his wife Andrea, and their three beautiful children. They loved us so well the whole time we were there. they made us feel like part of their family from the get go! We helped with a VBS, youth ministry, and my whole team took turns sharing our personal testimonies. Please pray for growth of their church and that they will be the hands of Jesus in that area.
Costa Rica has been more than amazing! I can’t believe my time here is almost over! we leave tomorrow for Nicaragua for a couple of days of rest and debrief with our whole leadership team from the States! I am so stoked to see them all!

One last thing! My next financial goal is due at the end of February! I know the Lord is going to supply the $2,700 I need by then, because He is faithful and He hasn’t brought me this far for nothing! If you are interested in supporting me monthly (you’d be surprised how far just $10 a month will go!) or would like to support me with a lump sum, click “support me” at the top of this page! Jesus is doing some pretty amazing things through your support of my ministry!
A huge gigantic thank you to all who have supported me this far! This trip has already been more than I could have asked for!
Love you all xoxoxo
