I can’t do this. This is the thought that keeps sneaking its way into my mind at least once a day. I can’t leave my family. I can’t go live and travel with people I don’t know. I can’t pack my life for a year into a backpack. I can’t raise $3,900 by the end of this month. I just can’t do it. I can’t.
Sometimes I get so sick and tired of having these thoughts. I wish I could be one of those people who has it all together, but I don’t. I doubt all the time that I’m going to be able to see this thing through.
When I’m at this point, which is really often, I’m reminded of God’s promises to me. The verse that I’m always drawn to is Matthew 19:26, “With man this is impossible, but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!!!”
So I guess I’m right when I say I can’t do this, BUT GOD CAN! How awesome is it that we serve a Savior who makes all things possible?
I would be lying if I said that because of these promises I don’t stress about money and I’m completely confident all of the time. I do stress. A lot. But in those times when I feel like I just can’t do it any longer, He is right there. Jesus called me onto this journey, so He will never leave me alone.
Please continue to be in prayer for me. Pray that I will be able to meet my fundraising goals. Pray that I will continue to draw closer to Jesus in preparation for this trip. Pray for the countries that I will be traveling to. That He will prepare their hearts and my teams to see the miraculous things that He has prepared.
