Why is it so easy to become complacent in the day to day routines of our lives? From birth we are raised to strive to do our best in school in order to attend a good college, thus leading to a well paying job that brings the comforts that so many desire. I recently had someone completely shatter this perspective that I had so easily fallen into with just one simple question, “where does God fit into this whole plan?” My life over the past six years has been like one of the world’s most intense rollercoasters, there have been plenty of high points in which nothing seemed as though it could go wrong, and then there have been those devastating low points in which I was unsure that I would ever stand back up. It wasn’t until this past summer in the little African village of Seronga Botswana that it all finally clicked for me. I had been so blinded by these many different events and how badly they hurt and wounded me that I couldn’t see Christ hands at work. Instead of damaging blows these events chiseled me and molded me into the man I have become today, and while I have grown from where I was there is still so much more to come. Fortunately God always has a plan that is perfect, and while I may not fully understand the measures of His plan, I am graced with experiencing the adventure first hand. Over the course of the past month I’ve been graced with being able to share my experiences with a plethora of different people, ranging from newfound friends in the slums of Tijuana, Mexico all the way to meeting new brothers in Christ while helping with a disciple now in the little town of Berryville, Arkansas. Once again Christ has opened my eyes to a whole new vision of how being a child of God is defined, and while we try to complicate it with all the many components it’s instead so simple:

R- Reject Passivity

E- Eternal Perspective

A- Accept Responsibility

L- Lead Courageously

The life of a Christian is not the boring, well dressed, always polite, turn the other cheek, untroubled life style that so many label it as, but instead it’s a never ending adventurous journey in which Christ has compelled us to go forth into the world and share God’s word, to boast about the glorious life that He has given to us! We as Christians have to counter this culture that has deemed us to be complacent with where we are by not being passive. We have to lead courageously in this effort by accepting that it is our responsibility to share and reflect God’s love, grace, and mercy. It is our job to put into others perspectives the eternity that God offers us through His son. Attached is a video about a man named Benny Prasad. Benny demonstrates for us what it means to live out the life of adventure that Christ calls us to while boldly sharing the Gospel at every opportunity.
