I went home for 5 days.

I went home to be in a beautiful wedding and catch up with as many people as possible.

Being back was refreshing and joyful and a reminder that home is home and home is good.

Home is welcoming and warm. Comfortable and safe.

It’s a place where I am not being pulled a million different directions or having to try hard or to be “on”. I don’t have to be anything, I can just be.

My bed and full fridge and soft carpet is part of it but it’s the people. It’s the people that make you feel like they’re proud of you and happy to see you, but you’ve simply been gone for just a smidge too long.

So after coming back onto the field, I am extra thankful for the people that made my weekend so wonderful and the people that made coming home for a hot sec so worth it. Thankful for the people that stayed while I went, so I can come back to a place full of people.

For now I am in Europe and in a few days I will fly to Africa, but by November 20th, I will happily be home for good!
