Meet Connor & Callie.
Just kidding, that’s not their names, but that is what I called them before I knew otherwise.
I saw them through the fence that divides our yard from the town square.
Our interactions usually consisted of playing through the fence and shouting “hi” back and forth until we are no longer in eyesight.
Until one day, God told me to cross the fence and play with them. Despite the questionable people surrounding them, I went to play. To give them attention and love and encouragement, like every child should receive.
With hand signs and extremely broken English, I learned that the twins are 3 years old and their names are Niki & Mimi.
Niki is cuddly and fearless and loud, but sweet.
Mimi is independent and caring and shy, but brave.
They’re my little Bulgarian children and I just don’t think it will be possible to forget these cute faces.
