Since ministry this month looks like making contacts for our host, we found ourselves at a lake this afternoon with no plans.

So we paired off and Lindsey and I decided to ask the Lord where he wants us.

We have learned that if you ask the Lord to show you where he wants you to go or who He wants you to talk too, He will give you a word or a picture to look for. Cool right?

We sat and prayed overlooking the lake with the mountains in the distance. It was gorgeous and picturesque and a little distracting but the Lord answered us anyway.

He gave me a picture of geometric shapes and triangles and He told Lindsey to look for the color orange.

We began walking around the lake and found absolutely nothing of those sorts.
Then we decided to do as the Albanians do and go get some coffee.

Here is what happened next:

We sat down at a coffee shop and instantly realized that the backs of the chairs were orange and were covered in geometric shapes. #whoa

Then sweetest Albanian came to serve us but he didn’t speak English…awkward.

A new waiter came and we asked him how he was and what his name was. He immediately replied, “are you Christian?” to which we replied, “yes! How did you know?” He explained that only Christians are nice in Albania. In other words, we instantly became friends and we are getting dinner next week.

Hey, thanks God.

Then the sweet Albanian that didn’t speak English came back and gave us a note that told us to follow him on Facebook. In other words, this is how foreigners get hit on.

All of a sudden a woman came and sat down with us with a boldness that insinuated that we have been friends for awhile. Even though we were slightly confused, I looked at her skirt and it had colorful TRIANGLES all over it. So we became friends and God is pretty neat and we have a coffee date with her on Thursday.

Hey, thanks again, God.

God hand delivered us two friendships because we chose to follow him and follow his silly trail of triangles and the color orange. It’s pretty hard to believe there isn’t an incredible God who hears us and answers us when things like today happen.
