Why go when you could stay? Why serve abroad when there are plenty of hurting people that need Jesus here?
These are questions that people have asked me and I have even asked myself at times.
Why do I go? Let me tell you.
I go because Jesus tells me to go. He told me when I was eight that I’d be a missionary and since that time I’ve been learning to listen to where He guides me. He told me to apply to be a squad leader and he told me follow Him. I’m just learning to follow His voice and go wherever he leads.
I go because my heart is to go. Honestly, I go because I love it. I love serving in the nations. I love sharing Jesus with people that have never heard his name before.
I go because He is with me and wherever I go, I carry his presence. That’s a powerful thing and I don’t want to waste it by sitting at home and doing nothing with it.
I go because I am an ambassador of the Gospel and in the name of Jesus I have the power to break off chains and bring light to the darkness.
I go because I am a peace carrier and this world needs to understand the peace that Jesus offers.
I go because I am a daughter of the King who is not bound by physical boundaries or country lines.
I go because God is on the move all over the world and he has asked me to join Him.
I go because the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
I go because he says “Follow me.”
These are the reasons I go. Mainly though, I go because it is a dream that God himself has planted in me and I am just saying yes to Him.
