Back in June, I said YES to another nine months of Squad Leading Gap Year! This September I will be heading to India, Nepal, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Ecuador with a new Squad of 42 Gap Year(ers), 42 world changers that are about to embark on an incredible, yet difficult journey.
While at training camp, I got to verbally say yes to this new squad; Yes to what the Lord has in store and yes to journeying with each person as they live out an exciting year in their walk with Christ. Standing in front of the Squad, I got to explain what my yes specifically meant to me and how I would walk this year with them. Here’s the specifics of my yes:
- I will intercede on their behalf and do listening prayer for them
- I will push them into places I believe they can grow and will be there to support them through that journey
- I will personally go after the things of the Lord and chase after what He is leading me to and I will invite them to be a part of that too
- I will be willing to go to hard places with them
- I will have a positive attitude and keep my eyes set on Christ no matter the situation
- I will laugh and have fun
I loved being able to think through what my yes actually meant to me in this season. I feel like it’s an important thing to do so that I can pursue these goals full heartedly and live with intention.
Here’s the Squad at Training Camp this July. Presenting GAP P!

I’m excited for this new season of Squad Leading and to see what God does with my yes and with this Squad’s yes.
