So I know it’s becoming a theme but let’s talk about this thing called mud again! Month one and it keeps coming up. I walked in it, lost my shoes in it and then fell in it. So I learned lessons and thought I was moving on from it. .  .  I was wrong. So wrong it keeps showing up. People love their rivers in Ecuador and we kept finding them! So inevitably I kept finding more mud. Slipped about a hundred more times and had about a hundred more prayer walks until I thought I couldn’t take it anymore. Realize I said I thought “I” couldn’t take it anymore. That’s when I realized He was probably trying to teach me more than I was allowing for.

So there we were at another secret family hot spot of a river when it clicked. There’s beauty in this here mud! The family told us about this beautiful river full of rich mud and all I could think was no more mud please. But when we got there and they were showing us these mud masks, God told me there was healing in them, theres healing in this beautiful muddy mess! You had to give the mud time to dry, stick, and work before you could clear it away. And when cleaning it off someone had to help you because you couldn’t see all the places you had gotten the mud into. Hmmm,…

Funny how that works, we get all messy and someone has to help us out of it. And not just help us wash it away but He allows it to refresh us and make us more beautiful than before the mess even happened. There’s healing in the mud. Don’t be afraid of the dirt we bring into our own lives or the mess others can throw at you but be willing to let the process set in nd allow the healing to happen. Allow time to take its course and allow the ultimate Healer to show you the beauty that comes after the mask!
