Hey everybody! Wait, what? What do you mean you don’t remember me? Ha-ha but seriously, I know it’s been forever since I’ve blogged or even updated some of you but that’s what I want to do today!
You see that question that everyone’s been asking, “So, what’s next?” has been somewhat haunting me. I know some thought I would get right back into the nursing field (which I sort of did only at a different hospital and on an as needed basis). Others maybe thought, even asked “Where to next?” See the thing was I had the same burning questions. The hard part is always the waiting. But as I learned on the race, you can’t just wait or you miss out on the living! I’ve had so much support from you all and have loved being home and living and sharing during the waiting! But guess what, I have news!
As some of you know, a part of my heart has always been in Africa even since I was 16. About the same time I fell head over feet for Jesus, a call fell on my heart. I always knew I would be involved in missions somehow and I always had a picture of me in Africa serving and loving on kids affected by AIDS. That’s partly the reason I went into nursing. Now combine this with my developing passion for discipleship and what do you get?
How about two months of co-leading and discipling a team of God fearing and Jesus-seeking 18-22 year old women in the heart of Swaziland(possibly the most AIDs affected country in Africa with the majority of the population being under 18yrs)? Sound like 17 year old God-given dream coming true?
Yep, I thought so too! So that’s it then, with y’alls continued prayers and support, I will be heading out to pour back into the same organization that poured so much love and support into me and my relationship with Jesus by pouring into, and working along-side, these beautiful women that God has entrusted me with all while they set out on a life-shaping adventure with Jesus. while there, I will also be praying about a possible longer ministry service there.
So, there it is, a dream of 17 years being realized. All in His good timing. Please be praying for me, my co-leader, and our team as we prepare for an amazing summer of pouring out to one another and those we are going to serve(there are children’s homes and clinics). Also be praying for financial support as I need to raise about $2000 for travel and insurance costs before I leave in June. I will still need to raise more for personal living costs while away.

I will continue to use and update this blog (more than last year hopefully, depending on Wi-Fi). I also haven’t gotten to meet up with some of you since being home and would love to find a time to get together to talk about the race, what Gods been doing in my heart and life! Let me know!
