Oh…But training camp, You see…

I had waited for this week,

Been praying for the teammates that I’d meet.

But pictures could not justify, and words could not describe,

You see, they all carried a glimpse of the kingdom in their eyes.

Oh how I hungered,

And oh how I thirsted.

But I could not get enough.

You see, this food, this sustenance… it could not fill me up!

Word by word You spoke it.

Song by song I soaked in.

But You wouldn’t stop there,

You see, You aren’t done ‘til all the walls are bare.

A fresh palate and a sparkling plate,

My heart lay open, a squeaky clean slate.

But you build me up and then fill me up.

You see, You are never finished; brick by brick and then cup by cup.

Oh, but training camp,

Was it all work and no play you ask?

But how ever did you make all those rainy days pass?

You see, there were boot camps and dance offs! Squad wars and even a plane crash! (simulation, don’t freak out mom!)

Oh and wait, how could I forget my own personal kryptonite,

I can still hear the laughs and screams piercing the night.

But is this what we have to look forward to?

You see, an ice cold bucket shower might also make you cry boo hoo!

Overall, my heart was warmed and my voice was lost,

My losses were grieved and the old garbage tossed.

But my squad mates were there to hug and dance it out,

You see with them and through Him, this year will be huge! I have no doubt!!
