We are leaving for our next country Malaysia tomorrow, and it is very hard to say goodbye to the Philippines. During our time here, we’ve tutored 1st and 2nd graders, worked construction, orchestrated VBS activities, played with children of all ages, helped with feedings, attended bible studies and visited Taal volcano. It has been a packed 2 1/2 weeks here!

Not only has it been a time of giving but it has also been a time of receiving. There are things that were hidden deep within me that surfaced, and though releasing those was hard, I did it. SHAME, GUILT, PAIN, and INSECURITY all bubbled up, and it was time for me to burn the lies that were nested within my heart. It was painful but rewarding. Letting go felt so good. I realize, though, that this is only the beginning, and the real work starts now!

I’ve been sick for the past three days. I had a fever of 103.3 degrees with a cough, stuffy nose, headache, and aches and pains all over my body. I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory bacterial infection, and it has been so hard to lay in bed and just sleep. If you know me, you know that is pure torture. Thank God that my teammates came in to check on me regularly. I am ever so thankful. I am doing better now and I just need to rest. But no sickness will hold this body down.

Here is a little taste of what my adventure has been like here in the Philippines!
