Namaste from Nepal!
We arrived in Nepal almost two weeks ago. As my lack of communication and blogging may suggest, internet has been sparse. The power is on between 4 and 6 hours a day here, so finding a time when it’s on and that we’re not at ministry for an extended period of time has been a challenge.
So you may be asking, what the heck have we been up to this month?
Let me give you a quick recap:
At the end of our time in Tanzania our squad had team changes. I am no longer on Agape with Ashley, Chris, and Pam. I am now on a team with Jordan Wheeler, Theresa Duffy, and Jeannie Moore. They are some fantastic people (who make me crack up a LOT). Get to know them by checking out their blogs:

This month we are living at an orphanage (which happens to be right above a liquor store. What can I say? I wanted a catchy title for this blog) with our pastor, his wife, and 5 month old baby. 17 children live here at the orphanage, ranging in age from 5 to 15.
And what are we doing with them, you may be asking?
LOVING THEM!
All of our kids have two weeks off of school and we get to spend that time playing with them, teaching them, and ultimately, simply loving them. Our “program” as they call it begins at nine. We introduced them to bingo last week to teach them the English words for animals and jobs and they love it. Anytime there is a transition between one activity and another, they are asking for more Bingo. We have been doing everything from taking them to the park, to teaching them English songs and dances, to learning Nepalese songs and dances, to drawing, to book making, to paper bead making, to movie watching, to soccer, to guitar lessons, to hangman, to Pictionary, to musical chairs (using sheets of paper instead of chairs), to skits, to basketball (thanks to a donation from my Aunt and Uncle, we were able to provide the orphanage a basketball hoop!), and more.
