Hello from Tanzania! We arrived safely in Dar es Salaam last Tuesday and headed to our ministry sight in Iringa, Tanzania on Thursday. Three teams are together in Iringa this month: My team, Agape, as well as the teams United and Shekinah. Between coordinating logistics with the other leaders for our three teams, door-to-door evangelism, visits to an orphanage and college, preaching, and working at a craft shop that employs disabled individuals, we have all been incrediby busy with little down time. I have loved our first week here, though, and despite my fear of being eaten by a Tanzanian lion (thanks Uncle Jonothan), I am safe so far (and, praise the Lord, not sleeping in a tent this month).
I made the unfortunate mistake of not sleeping under a mosquito net our first night here, and was destroyed by what I believe was a single mosquito. 90 mosquito bites, including 12 on my face, two on my left eyelid, and one on my lip. Needless to say, I look incredibly attractive right now.
Tomorrow morning we leave to do village ministry in the areas surrounding the town of Iringa and we will return on Monday. Please be praying for safety and for God to move in amazing ways as we go in pairs to the villages tomorrow!
When we go to town to access internet, it is down about 90% of the time. Though I will do my best to post another blog next Wednesday, if you do not hear from me regularly, that is why!
