Well this is it! I am in Seoul, South Korea for month 11, the last leg of the race! When I look back on these 11 months I can’t believe how fast time flew. I can’t believe the journey God has taken me through in such a short time (well it feels short)! Everything happened so quickly and sometimes it felt like a rollercoaster of emotions. Times where I just wanted to go home, or just had to become vulnerable with my team, or times that were super uncomfortable. But there were times that were so exciting, stretching, and memories I could never forget! Through it all God was with me and aloud me to embrace every moment. This aloud me to grow more dependent on Him!

This month I am privileged to be able to work in a girls Children’s Home in Seoul, South Korea! We are mostly taking care of 6 beautiful babies that range from the age of 1– 4 months old. 4 out of 6 babies are from the baby box, which is a box that was created by a pastor in 2009. A lot of babies are abandoned in South Korea and they unfortunately don’t survive. So mothers now have the chance to drop off their baby in this box that will keep the babies warm. Once they are dropped off in the box the pastor’s doorbell will go off so he knows there is a baby in the box. He will then take the babies to an orphanage so they can be cared for. So we get to feed them, rock them to sleep, sing to them and of course clean the diapers haha. It is a very good way to end the race, I think!

The home is filled with children that age from babies up to ladies who are 22 years old. We will play with the children before and after school either play soccer, try to learn how to long board, play basketball, tag and lots of other fun activities. We hangout with two toddlers who are trying to learn English, so when the other girls are in school we will read to them and just talk to them in English! We lead church services on Wednesday nights which is lots of fun as we prepare a message, lead worship, get to pray over the girls, and do crazy fun action dances to get them involved!

These girls are so precious and are so loved here at the children’s home! All the workers will treat them as there own child and that’s what makes this place so special. It’s a month that will be spent loving, caring for and showing these girls that they are worth so much! They are beautiful and wonderfully adored by a Father who loves them so dearly. My prayers are that they feel special and that they know they are loved. That they don’t feel like they have been abandoned but that they have a family and Father who wants to care for them if they allow themselves to be cared for.

The verse that keeps going through my head is in Song of Songs 4:7- “ You are altogether beautiful my darling, there is no flaw in you.”

If you could keep these girls in your prayers when you think of them! That they would thrive in school, that they would have the urge to pursue God, and that they would know and understand there beauty and worth!

Love,

Heidi
