What are you getting out of your daily devotions? Are you digging deeper?

A lot of the time we are reading the word and getting bits and pieces out of it but are we getting everything out of the Word that God wants to show us? Are you taking the time to meditate on the Word every once in a while to see if there is more He wants to show you? We need to take time to dig deeper into the Word. Society is so fast pace all we do is GO,GO,GO. So when you read the word are you still in that GO, GO, GO mentality?

I challenge you to take the time whether it be reading the Word, or asking Him to speak to you while you just listen, or worshiping etc. to see what He is speaking to you today. If you don’t think you have the time its usually a lie you are telling yourself.. or if you truly don’t have the time then take the time. God created us and loves us and all He wants is for us to spend time with Him. Whether this looks like praying in your car to and from work, going for a walk and listening to Him speak to you etc. Find out your discipline and put it into action!

Today I started reading the book of Daniel. Daniel is one of those stories that you learn as a young child everyone knows that he gets thrown into the lions den and is kept in there to be killed but comes out alive as God keeps the lions from attacking him. But how much do you really know about Daniel? Until you dig deeper into the word is when you will find out more about this amazing man of God. The king Nebuchadneszzar assigned Daniel and 3 other men a daily amount of food and wine for 3 years till they were trained then they were to enter the king’s service. But Daniel spoke up and told the guard to feed them vegetables and water instead for 10 days to see how they compare to those eating the other food and wine. The guys looked healthier and and better nourished so they ate veggies and water instead. Daniel also was able to interpret dreams. As the kings couldn’t seem to find anyone to interpret his dream he was going to have all the wise men of Babylon executed, this include Daniel and his men. Daniel spoke up once again and got a night to interpret the kings dream, which saved them from execution. Daniel was found to be a man who was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems (Daniel 5:12). Daniel was also able to read writing on the wall in the royal palace through God that no one else was able to interpret. These are just a couple things in the first 5 chapters of Daniel.

So I challenge you whatever you read today to try to get more out of it and dig deep! 🙂

Side note:

I would like to have a prayer team as I go off on this journey for 11 months. IF you are willing to pray for my team and myself daily or weekly if you could let me know that would be appreciated 🙂

Thanks once again for being such a supportive family!

Yours in Christ,
