“The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion”- Proverbs 28:1
What does bold mean?
-Ready to take risks
-Confident
-Brave
-Strong
-Courageous
-Not hesitating or fearful
Various people have given the word bold to me multiple times on the race. But I would just hear the word and be “wowed” by it then put it in the back of my thoughts. Until a couple days ago, a teammate gave us each a word on a piece of paper of what she heard God telling her. I opened up the piece of paper and the word that was staring back at me was “Bold”… All right God I get it… So I started looking into the word Bold a bit more.
What does it mean to be as bold as a lion?
Boldness of a lion I believe is compared with a believer. Wicked men may flee even though no one is running after him but the godly are as bold as lions. When a lion is hungry he is confident with himself because he knows the strength he has within himself to catch his food. A lion isn’t afraid of any animals if he’s hungry he will go after almost anything. This is the kind of courage we as Christians should have!
We as Christians should be confident in ourselves because Christ lives within us. If we are hungry spiritually a lot of the time we will do something about it in that moment and then be done with it until we get that hunger again. We need to find that hunger for Gods word daily and go after it. We need to be on guard at all times by using the strength that has been given to us. Of course you can’ t be on guard with your own strength you will wear out to quickly. If you’re as bold as a lion you go to battle confidently and not fearful or hesitant. If the enemy tries to attack you, are you backing down and letting him win or are you stepping up and taking courage and winning the fight?!
Proverbs 30:30- “A lion, mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing”. In this verse it’s saying how lions are mighty, strong, brave among beasts. They don’t withdrawal or back away before anything. They aren’t fearful of what they are going to face. They are ready to take a risk and are confident they will win.
Words that are spoken over you don’t let them by pass you. Look into, pray them over yourself and speak life into it. Boldness is something I want to continue to become. I want to be bold and when battles come towards me not be timid or fear what is to come but be strong, brave, confident, courageous, and take risks! Are you as bold as a lion?
