This morning we hopped on overcrowded local transportation and made our way to the monkey temple. The sobering reality set in of we are literally watching people worship idols and not know the love of Christ. I watch as people bring their offerings (necklaces, food, flowers, water, etc.) and place them at the feet of these golden statues. I watch as they spin prayer wheels to send the prayers to the gods in hopes of them receiving the prayers.
The 12 of us separated out and covered the grounds. Covering this place in prayer and worship music. Prayers that these grounds would be shaken, that these people would have an awakening in their hearts to something greater. That they would encounter God in miraculous ways. That their hearts would be softened to even hearing the gospel! Prayers that sins they’re struggling with would be removed and anything that is under the enemies influence to be taken away. Prayers that God would grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of Your truth. I pray they are able to see and appreciate the gospel by You working in them. I pray they have opportunities to see and experience the light of Jesus Christ.
“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4
