We made it to Panama! This is the family I get to do life with. – A couple things I wanted to share:
1. Signing up for the race I (and supporters) expected it to be missions 24/7. When you sign up for @theworldrace you sign up for 3 things -> intimacy. community. missions. The other two things are SO important. Some months will be very missions oriented and some will be intimacy with the Lord, with your team, or with one person at a hostel that God is telling you to pour into. Some months will be community with your team and with locals. – With that being said while in Panama we have been given an ATL (ask the Lord) month. – So far it looks like morning devotions (which last 4 hours because #HolySpirit), pouring into each other when we are struggling, building each other up, learning about the Lord, learning about the Holy Spirit, and really diving into this family that we are.
2. During this ATL the Lord has asked me to surrender my phone. ATL is a month of surrender and to grow closer with Him I don’t want to be distracted. Being obedient is hard but worth it. I am excited to see the fruits of this month at the end of our time here. I wrestled with God in the fact that He wanted me to give my phone up. I said “Heck no, what if I need an Uber, need to Venmo someone, my Instagram won’t be kept up with, my friends, my family, the people who sent me on this trip…” But in that God saying “but how much more am I than the things of this world?” So thanks for the #GutPunch God, I needed it.
3. ATLing means we don’t have a host or a ministry. Please be praying for my team to have those things this month. That we do have those divine appointments, that we find housing within budget.
And lastly 4. I am still fundraising, I need $1,488 more to be fully funded, I honestly forget that I am fundraising because I gave those finances to God before I even left for the race. What He has started will be finished. Where He wants you He will always provide the way for you to go.
If you made it this far congratulations ?? thanks for taking your time to read my words about the race and where my heart is.
